Celebrate National Duck Week on the Riverwalk
Texas is famous for San Antonio, which is world-famous for the Riverwalk, which is quite famous for its duck population. The Center for Duck Study is hosting their annual National Duck Week on the Riverwalk, starting April 1 at the Tom Lee Jones Memorial Convention Center at the high end of the river. Admission is free for adults and $5 for children under 18.
Take a look at the fun and festivities during National Duck Week on the Riverwalk (all events start at 2pm San Antonio time):
- 4/1: Shoot a Duck - ask any business owner on the Riverwalk and they’ll tell you what a pain ducks are! Time to get even with our Shoot a Duck competition, sponsored by Smith & Weston. Even a beady-eyed aggressive little beaky one can’t outrun a .45!
- 4/2: Duck Pancakes with Ken Fukayi: San Antonio has long had an indiginuous Chinese population, dating back to the Battle of the Alamo and the showdown between Juan Gonzales and Kim Peek Yu. Renowned local Chinese chef Ken Fukoyi (?) will be showing us how to make duck tortillas and floutas, and may try to get some True San Antonians to try his country’s heathen food. NOTE: Insurance does not covered this event as there is a risk of becoming Commie.
- 4/3: Duck Limericks: Paddy O’Reilly’s Irish Pub is sponsoring this spot of Irish fun where everyone gets to be a part of the Irish fun but only at Paddy O’Reilly’s. Guinness Happy Hour will be running all day, and the best duck limerick will win a T-shirt. NOTE: This event is not suitable for children.
- 4/4: Morning Mass at St Mark’s: Father Jose Stern will be preaching to the saved a special sermon entitled Ducks Have No Souls and Are Agents Of Satan. Guaranteed to be a crowd-raiser, Father Jose will be explaining a duck was instrumental in nailing our Lord to the cross, and how they are Jewish agents of Satan. NOTE: $5 for Catholics, $10 for the Un-Saved.
- 4/5: Duck Rap with Jizzy C: San Antonian rapper Jizzy C will be performing the national hit Duck Rap live from a Riverboat. Famous for his worldwide best seller Hit That Booty, a stirring memorial to the Alamo, his performance will close National Duck Week and all remaining ducks will be poisoned (sponsored by The Dreary’s Kitchen).
See you at National Duck Week on the world-famous San Antonio Riverwalk!
