Texas Institute of Cultures adds new wing

Nowhere is culture more visible in San Antonio than on the world famous San Antonio Riverwalk™, with its unique collection of chain restaurants and happy hours. Long being admired across the globe as a center of cultural excellence, and recently awarded Most Cultural City in Texas by Mayor Hardbinger, Texans recognize the cultural importance of the Riverwalk with a huge gray building that used to house the Riverwalk’s sewer pump system. Although sewage has now backed up across the Riverwalk following the closure of the pump, most Genuine San Antonians think the sacrifice was worth it.

The new wing that was recently added elaborates on displays for the most important Texan cultures, including:

  • Traditional brewing, sponsored by Shiner Buck™.
  • The history of beer-can chicken, sponsored by Miller Light.
  • Traditional barbecue techniques in the days before the un-Texan propane systems.
  • Nascar through the ages.

Additionally, a new display features the ever-popular “Texas is the Heartland” video, entered for an Oscar in 2006 and almost considered by the Academy. Card-carrying Republican members gain for free, while God-fearing crucifix wearing Baptists receive  a 50% discount off the standard $1.50 admission fee. In celebration of the new wing, Hooters has offering a free plate of wing in their “Wings for a Wing” promotion: simply provide your ticket stub when ordering your next jug of Budwiser.

Don’t forget to visit the new Texas Institute of Cultures the next time you’re on the world-famous San Antonio Riverwalk. Described by one San Antonian as “more culture than I ever thought was possible”, the TIC is a celebration of all things Texan.
